Google Earth is a FREE virtual globe, map and geographical information program. It maps the entire Earth by putting images obtained from satellite imagery, aerial photography onto a 3D globe.

Google Earth is a free version with and Google Earth Pro, which is now FREE too (it previously cost $399 a year) and is intended for commercial use.

Khan Academy

Lynda.com

Khan Academy is a FREE online education company that offers “free, world-class education for anyone, anywhere”.

Topics include: math, science, computer programming, history, art history, economics, and more. They’ve also partnered with institutions like NASA, The Museum of Modern Art, The California Academy of Sciences, and MIT.

lynda.com is an online education company offering thousands of video courses in software, creative, and business skills. The company produces video tutorials taught by industry experts. It is FREE for the first 10 days, then for a monthly membership fee of $25.00, members have access to watch unlimited videos. Instruction is offered in English as well as German, French, and Spanish.

The Great Courses, is a series of college-level audio and video courses produced and distributed by The Teaching Company.  The series is produced for enrichment purposes only and offered without schedules, homework, exams, or certificates. These courses are not free, but they frequently offer great package deals.

TED is a nonprofit devoted to spreading ideas, usually in the form of short, powerful talks (18 minutes or less). Wikipedia

Google Chrome

Google Chrome is a FREE web browser developed by Google in 2008.  The Google Chrome browser has a microphone that will allow you to do voice searches on Google. 

Wikipedia is a multilingual, web-based, FREE-content encyclopedia project supported by the Wikimedia Foundation.  Wikipedia is written collaboratively by largely anonymous volunteers.
